Mindset Makeovers

For most of my life, every diet I was on had a tim For most of my life, every diet I was on had a timeline. And when the results weren't fast enough, I dumped it like a lazy boyfriend.

I used "it's not a diet, it's a lifestyle" as a platitude, but never in practice. In 2020, early into my journey, the pandemic created a benefit I didn't recognize until long after it was over. I was insulated. No business travel, no parties or events, and no negotiating with breakroom donuts. The shutdown did some of the heavy lifting without me even realizing it. When the world opened back up, the habits I thought I'd built didn't translate when there was opportunity, and regain followed.

One of the most important lessons I've learned since then is that your lifestyle needs to be able to travel. When I'm traveling, especially on vacation, I'll make different choices — less routine and more flexible. But that doesn't mean I'm leaving my goals sitting on the shelf at home.

I don't stop brushing my teeth on vacation. I don't stop showering. So why would I put the things that are improving my life on pause?

Maturity has shown me that shelving my commitment for convenience makes it more of a platitude than a commitment.

So grab your suitcase, and start building the life that works for you — wherever you are.

My weight loss journey spans 30+ years. But I've o My weight loss journey spans 30+ years. But I've only been sharing it on social media for six years.

I always thought there was a finish line. Turns out, there isn't.

In the past six years I've lost, gained, and lost again. There were seasons I'd given up, and ones where sheer tenacity kept me moving.

But the one thing that's different from all the times before -- I kept coming back. Yep, I just keep showing up.

Six years of imperfection brought me to this point. And this time I'm not looking for the finish line.

Week 13 Update 💪 Feeling less funky today — not s Week 13 Update 💪

Feeling less funky today — not sure if it was menopause, needing a breather from the social webs, or a combination of both. In any case, I'm here now. 😉

Down 1.4 this week. Down 17.8 since starting GLP-1 therapy.

And down 95.8 since I started this journey in 2020 — from 285 lbs to 189.2 lbs.

75 days into my 90-day exercise program. The finish line (at least for this one) is close.

Happy FriYAY! 🎉

When I'm in a funk, my instinct is to go quiet and When I'm in a funk, my instinct is to go quiet and isolate — but if there's one thing I've learned since I started sharing this journey, it's that if I'm feeling this way, I'm probably not alone.

So here I am... telling you that you're not alone.

Not every day has to be the best day. Struggling is part of life. And even though I've been feeling uninspired the past few days, I know feelings are temporary.

Action is the cure for a lot of things, so this is me taking action.

Face to Face Friday 📸 Patience is one of the most Face to Face Friday 📸

Patience is one of the most underrated tools in this journey. Progress doesn't always look like progress in the moment. Sometimes it just looks like another ordinary Friday of showing up.

Down 1.6 this week. Down 16.4 since starting GLP-1 therapy. Down 94.4 lbs from my starting weight in 2020. Staying at my current dose for another month. Finished day 68 of my 90-day exercise program. 💪

Trusting the process...

Happy FriYAY!

Here's a glimpse of my daily morning routine. Thes Here's a glimpse of my daily morning routine. These first couple hours set the tone for my day. Brush my teeth, feed the dogs, make the bed, and workout.

After that — protein, a little caffeine, some vitamin D, and Jesus. Then I'm ready to take on the day.

Here's my favorite verse:

"She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future." - Proverbs 31:25

Here's how I make my protein coffee:

Cinnamon Toast Salted Caramel Protein Coffee
3 points | 115 calories | 20g protein | 1g fiber
150ml Fairlife fat free milk
8g Ryse Cinnamon Toast Cereal Protein
8g Devotion Salted Caramel Cone Protein Powder
14oz hot brewed coffee

Froth or blend the milk and protein powder together. Pour into your coffee — I add some of the protein mixture while it's brewing right into my cup, then top it off with the rest. Or layer it right into your mug — protein mixture, coffee, top with remaining protein. If you're really feeling fancy, finish it with a little caramel sauce and a sprinkle of flaky salt.

PS. This is really good iced, too.

This morning I got my annual mammogram. Not fun, n This morning I got my annual mammogram. Not fun, not comfortable, and not optional.

This body has been through it, and I owe it so much more than just an afterthought.

We spend so much time on aesthetics, but so often, inside maintenance gets overlooked. Regular checkups, screenings, dental, mental health, and sleep all count toward a healthier life. An ounce of prevention is still the most effective — yet underrated — health hack that exists.

Taking care of yourself goes beyond what you eat and how much you move.

Book the appointment. And take care of all of your bad self.

Consistency, intensity, and discipline get conflat Consistency, intensity, and discipline get conflated all the time. They aren't the same thing.

Real consistency is adaptable. Short on time? Scale it down. Low energy? Do the easier version. The goal is finding a way to show up anyway.

If you only have 60% today, give 60%. That's your 100% for that day. Meeting yourself where you are isn't settling. It's sustainable.

Consistency can't be built in misery. It has to be built in grace.
